Latest Spectrum Deployment
According to Vi, this network enhancement includes the deployment of 6.2 MHz of spectrum in the 900 MHz band, which was acquired in recent spectrum auctions. This will further strengthen indoor coverage, particularly in densely populated areas, the company said. However, Vi did not mention the amount of spectrum deployed in the 2100 MHz band.
Faster Speeds in Key Cities and Towns
This upgrade will provide Vi users in cities and towns including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Dehradun, Meerut, and Bareilly with enhanced indoor coverage and faster speeds. Vodafone Idea noted that this upgrade follows the company’s previous network enhancement upgrades announced in July.
Commenting on the network enhancement, Vodafone Idea said, “Deployment of the most efficient 900 MHz and 2100 MHz spectrum across over 17,800 sites in UP and Uttarakhand since July is an important step in enhancing the overall network experience for users. Vi customers can now enjoy seamless connectivity and faster data speeds both indoors and outdoors on our best-ever network, Vi GiGAnet. In the coming months, we will continue to invest in network infrastructure, as well as introduce offers to delight our customers.”
