Last month we launched the first iteration of Print on Demand at Thangs as an early access release. We also explained the roadmap we’ve been working towards since December, which showed that full self-service access would be coming ‘soon’. We’re now excited to share that ‘soon’ is now, and the next phase of our Print on Demand (PoD) rollout is now live!
Creators on Thangs can now upload models, generate quotes, and create or manage their own listings independently from their dashboard.
This launch brings even greater flexibility to the ways designers engage with Shapeways’ manufacturing capabilities, giving them full control over their PoD offerings with zero setup time or waitlists. The interface and workflows gel seamlessly with Shapeways’ ability to handle production and fulfillment, giving designers more space to design.
For our broader community, especially product teams, startups, and engineers, this marks another step in making our production workflows more open, scalable, and self-serve. Whether you’re validating a design, supporting a creator community, or looking for a manufacturing partner with built-in e-commerce options, we’re continuing to expand what’s possible.
