3D model description
The hood functionally blocks unnecessary light from entering the lens directly, reducing flare and ghosting. This increases the contrast of the photo, contributing to the overall image quality improvement, and is especially effective for vintage lenses that are susceptible to flare. It also protects the front of the lens.
This hood was designed to harmonize with vintage lenses for aesthetic and design satisfaction. And we hoped it would have a retro and simple shape.
This hood is optimized for Canon FD lenses that adopt a front 55mm thread. It can be used without vignetting on FD lenses with a focal length of 28mm or longer, but vignetting may occur on single-focus FD lenses of 24mm or less.
Designed to fit the front bayonet mount of Canon FD lenses. Align the mark on the side of the hood with the groove on the top of the lens mount, and then turn clockwise to attach. It is designed with a small tolerance to prevent shaking due to clearance and hood detachment. Therefore, post-processing such as removing residual support, etc., may be required before mounting the lens.
The hood can be mounted while the lens is equipped with a 55mm filter. However, the hood cannot be mounted while the step-up filter adapter, variable ND filter, or existing lens cap is mounted.
