Vodafone will provide global IoT connectivity to customers of Oracle’s Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP). The integration promises to deliver out-of-the-box connectivity and near real-time data intelligence, key components for enabling innovative new services.
The platform leverages Vodafone’s Global SIM for cellular connectivity to support Oracle’s suite of industry applications. This synergy allows industries to orchestrate, connect, and manage a multitude of IoT devices and cloud-based services.
The integration of Oracle’s ECP with Vodafone Business IoT Connectivity enables capabilities such as embedded AI, secure device lifecycle management, connection management, and advanced media routing and conferencing.
Oracle’s customers will benefit from near real-time communication capabilities, thanks to Vodafone’s Global SIM. Additionally, they will have access to Vodafone’s extensive IoT network, spanning over 180 countries, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements. This expansive network connectivity enables businesses to operate globally and efficiently, supporting their growth strategies.
Erik Brenneis, CEO of Vodafone Business IoT, commented: “We’re excited to announce the next step in our partnership with Oracle—providing reliable and secure connectivity to its Enterprise Communications Platform customers.
“This collaboration will help customers to expand their operations and accelerate on a global scale with compliant connectivity in over 180 countries worldwide. We look forward to our ongoing partnership with Oracle, where we can connect more customers in more countries.”
In the face of industrial transformation, industries are adopting near real-time connectivity. This is crucial for sectors including healthcare, construction and engineering, energy and water, hospitality, and the public sector. Brenneis’ words echo the importance of reliable connectivity for businesses aiming to thrive in a connected world.
Andrew Morawski, Executive VP and GM at Oracle Communications, said: “Connectivity is the heart of industry transformation. Using drones to inspect construction job sites, remotely monitoring the health of a patient, paying the bill tableside at a restaurant—none of these scenarios are possible without wireless connectivity and industry-specific applications working in harmony.
“By expanding our long partnership with Vodafone and bringing its extensive global network reach and IoT expertise together with Oracle’s wide-ranging portfolio of industry suites, we can help create new ways to delight customers and deliver new revenue streams.”
Indeed, the partnership between Oracle and Vodafone positions both companies to lead the ongoing wave of digital transformation and enable industries to deliver enhanced experiences and new business models through reliable global IoT connectivity.
