Combat BEC and Phishing with LevelBlue & Check

Year after year, we continue to see increases in phishing and business email compromises (BEC), and the costs associated with these incidents are growing, too. The LevelBlue Security Operations Center (SOC) found that BEC attacks made up 70% of the total incidents investigated during the second half of 2024. Of these incidents, 96% of them involved one or more phished users. With such a constant barrage of threats and emails, businesses need future-proof security solutions and management partners they can trust to accurately deploy, configure, and maintain their email security tools.

Recently, LevelBlue announced it would be offering email security powered by Check Point as part of the LevelBlue Partner Program. Partners now have access to a leading email security software to better protect their customers’ inbound, outbound, and internal emails. The solution includes access to the Infinity management portal, where partners can add and manage new customers and licenses on demand.

To help partners provide an effective managed solution for their clients, we wanted our offer to have 3 key benefits:

  1. Access to a leading email security software that’s quick to deploy, quick to provide value, and highly effective at protecting against cyber threats.
  2. Bi-directional integration with our open XDR platform for holistic threat monitoring and automated response capabilities.
  3. User-friendly management and a flexible cost model.

Technology

Check Point Harmony Email Security is an API-based inline protection service that protects your SaaS applications from advanced threats. Certain license levels even include security for collaboration applications like OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Slack, and more. When an email is sent, Harmony Email intercepts and sends the email to Check Point ThreatCloud for analysis before the email is delivered to the recipient. If the verdict is malicious, then the email is handled according to the configured workflow (for example, quarantine). Otherwise, the email is delivered to the recipient. Harmony Email & Collaboration also inspects internal and outgoing traffic for data leakage, phishing, and malware. Emails can be removed and modified post-delivery if needed. Check Point Email Security has the industry’s highest catch rate for phishing and malware.

Requiring only minutes to deploy, Harmony can immediately start catching malicious activity. On deployment day, the solution performs a retroactive scan to find existing threats in your organization so that you can respond without delay.

Partners also have access to email security add-ons like domain-based message authentication, reporting, and conformance (DMARC), Email Archiving, and Security Awareness Training for a holistic email security program.

LevelBlue is excited to partner with Check Point to provide this to MSSPs of all sizes so that they can better protect their customers while maintaining simplicity in their business models and top-tier security coverage.

Integration

Coverage can be further extended with integration between Check Point Harmony and LevelBlue USM Anywhere. By ingesting email security logs for correlation, partners can manage threat monitoring from a single pane of glass. Monitoring email security logs in the XDR platform adds another data point for improved threat context on any malicious activity occurring within a customer environment, additional users being targeted, and overall user behavior. The SOAR-ready integration ingests security logs from the Harmony console and allows operators to update policies through the bi-directional API if desired.

Management

Check Point Harmony Email Security is provisioned and managed through the Infinity Management portal. In this multi-tenant platform, partners can add, remove, and manage customer licensing on demand. We know that not all customers fit one mold. Partners using the Infinity portal can provision new tenants and pick and choose between license types and add-ons for each tenant. All licensing is provided on a month-to-month, usage-based basis where billing occurs in arrears according to the number of licenses used the previous month. Trials and POCs are also available for customers wanting to see the impact of the services but aren’t quite ready to commit.

Ultimately, we know that email security is a necessity for businesses of any size. Whether it’s phishing, social engineering, malware, credential harvesting, or data theft, users need email security that is dynamic, proactive, and effective.
