Bugatti Creates Custom 3D-Printed Cup Holder for Chiron Owner

Bugatti has developed a custom 3D-printed cupholder solution for one of its Chiron Super Sport owners, addressing a notable absence in the luxury hypercar’s interior design. The initiative came after owner Shannon Ralston experienced issues with a spilled drink in the door card’s storage compartment.

Design director Frank Heyl showcased the new cupholder design through a social media video, demonstrating its integration into Ralston’s white Chiron Super Sport, known as ‘Le Diamant Blanc.’ The custom accessory features a tool-less design that clips directly into the existing door pocket space.

The 3D-printed component includes two separate drink holders – a larger slot for water bottles and a smaller one designed to accommodate beverage cans. Adding a personal touch, the manufacturer incorporated the owner’s name into the design, reflecting Bugatti’s commitment to customization.

Heyl indicated in his presentation that the design was completed in time for Christmas, with plans to produce and ship a prototype to Ralston for testing in January. The custom solution exemplifies how 3D printing technology enables manufacturers to create specialized components for existing vehicles.

This development may influence other Chiron owners to request similar customizations for their vehicles. While the Chiron represents the pinnacle of automotive luxury, this case highlights how even premium vehicles can benefit from post-delivery modifications to meet individual owner preferences.
