Get your workbench organized with these awesome 3D printed tools!
Keeping your desktop and workbench clean and tidy can be a challenge if you don’t already have an organizational mindset. Set yourself up for success by assembling tools and caddies to give every tool at your workbench a home to return to. With this collection of workbench and pegboard related 3D models, hopefully your desktop spends just a little more time mess-free.
#1: Art Knife Holder
I’m not going to lie, I’ve stabbed myself with a hobby knife due to poor storage and organization; pointed straight up in a flower pot is not an ideal storage method. Having this 3D print, modeled by twobraids on Thingiverse.com, has limited my ability to wound myself significantly, and it’s really quick to reprint it if I need to.

#2: Drill Bit Holder
The more you work on projects, the more drill bits you’ll end up collecting – and misplacing. Storing all my bits in a case in a drawer just encourages me to not want to put it back where it belongs, but with this right in front of me, it’s a lot easier to grab the bit I need, use it, and put it back. Designed by ckirby on Thingiverse.com, these make any workbench look that much more professional and just a little more tidy.

#3: Pegstr – Pegboard Wizard
mgx on Pinshape designed Pegstr, this is a parametric pegboard organizer system, which means you can input values and the model will be modified to fit that. There are many different variants that you can modify to create a holder for your exact tools no matter how oddly shaped they might be.
Pegstr makes it easier to organize and create a system for your tools.
#4: Caliper Holder
Before I found this model, designed by Devin Montes of Make Anything, my calipers stayed in their case in my bench drawer, despite being one of my most used tools. With this 3D print I can actually remember where my calipers are and have a neat holder for them on my wall.

#5: Stacking Boxes
When you’re juggling multiple projects at once it’s important to have a designated place to put materials and fasteners that are for each specific project. This Stacking Box by artmanlinux is a handy addition to any workbench and can add some flair to it by using some vibrant 3D printing filaments like MatterHackers Quantum PLA.
Stacking boxes can easily maximize the efficiency of your workbench by introducing vertical organization.
#6: Paper Towel Hanger
A lot of the projects I work on have some liquid something that inevitably drips and spills. A paper towel holder right on my pegboard helps clean up any mess before it has time to spread and keep me from panicking looking for something to clean it up. This 3D model was designed by Idabkey on Thingiverse.com and you can easily change out your paper towels or remove a roll for those bigger messes.

#7: AA Battery Holder
This battery holder doubles as a dispenser, holding 16 AA batteries. Saadli on Thingiverse.com designed two versions: one for 1 inch spacing and one for 25.3mm spacing, so use whichever fits your pegboard best!

#8: Scotch Tape Holder
At my workbench, I’m usually making cosplay props and armor using EVA foam floor mats and I use scotch tape to hold the patterns onto the foam. This Scotch Tape Holder by Devin Montes from Make Anything is a super handy place to give another one of my tools a home.

#9: Pegboard Hook
For everything else, you can print these hooks for all the various tools that have loops, from scissors to crescent wrenches, to a dust mask. With how easy and quick it is to print these hooks, you may as well print a dozen of these and stash them for whenever you get new tools. CycleNinja on Thingiverse.com designed these pegboard hooks for 1 inch spaced pegboard.

#10: The Spool Tool
For the ultimate in organization and recycling, you can’t beat a spool tool! Customize the drawers to the sizes you need for whatever it is that you’re storing. You can print inserts, or make each pull-out a completely open drawer – whatever you like! Plus, you get the warm fuzzy feeling of helping to save the planet by recycling those empty spools! Nice work you! You can get the design download directly from our website here!
