Network X Awards 2024 winners crowned in Paris


Last night, telco leaders celebrated innovation at the third annual Network X Awards (8 October 2024). Sponsored by Heights Telecom and hosted at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris, the event highlighted the key achievements driving the sector forward.

From smart home solutions to AI-driven projects and 5G and fibre network services, 21 categories recognised the best of the best from over 140 entries spanning 25+ countries. A diverse panel of 45+ industry experts carefully evaluated all entries, ensuring that only the most exceptional innovations were honoured.

Celebrated for optical transport success, Nokia took home the Best All-Round Optical Transport Vendor Award for its PSE-6s coherent DSP, Packet-OTN, WaveSuite optical network automation platform and Quantum-Safe Network solution. Huawei took home the trophy for Most Innovative Optical Transport Use Case for its Huawei 400G/800G backbone solution brining new speed and large capacities.

In mobile services, China Mobile was crowned the Best 5G Voice Innovation Award and Deutsche Telekom was recognised for its Leading Network API Use Case. Ericsson earned the Most Innovative 5G Communication Service Award for its work with Singtel, leveraging the world’s first nationwide 5G Standalone network. Finally, Wind River was awarded Outstanding Solution in Open RAN for its Wind River Studio, the first cloud-native platform for intelligent systems.

Focusing on fixed line communications, several top accolades were announced during the ceremony. Bitdefender earned the Most Innovative Smart Home Experience Award for its NETGEAR Armor™, a multi-layer cyber security solution. ZTE received the Outstanding Green Fibre Use Case Award for its flexible PON Solution that delivers high integration and easy deployment to a wide range of uses. Lastly, Qualcomm was recognised as Outstanding Fixed Wireless Access Solution provider for its 5G Fixed Wireless Access Platform Gen 3.
